Using Olive Oil As a Moisturizer

Around my birthday, I treated myself to a fancy bar of olive oil soap from a little shop. I was amazed at how smooth it made my skin! Olive oil is good for just about anything; cooking, making body scrubs, salad dressing, greasing a squeaky door hinge, and now my favorite use… moisturizing skin.

Since I purchased that soap, I have started using olive oil as a facial moisturizer. My routine is pretty straight forward. At night, I wash my face and then smooth thin layer of olive oil on my skin. I have noticed my skin is smoother and is not dry throughout the day. I love using natural products, no chemicals and it’s practically free.

What I do is put a tiny drop of evoo in my hands. I rub the oil into my skin and then take the extra oil on my hands and rub it into my hands and the tips of my hair. This absorbs the remaining evoo and helps moisturize my hair and washes out in the morning when I shower.

I do this about a half an hour before I go to bed so that my skin has enough time to absorb the olive oil.

I challenge you to try this for a week and let me know how your skin changes. I’d love to hear if it makes your skin smoother. You have nothing to lose!

Sarah – Nope I haven’t had break outs. My skin always dries out with the cold weather. You could always try it for a few days and see how it goes? It’s really easy! Let me know how it turns out if you try it.
