Here’s a quick tip, trust your nose when baking! If you smell your dish from the oven, it just might be done. I use this technique to decide when my pizza is ready. If I can smell the pizza from across the room; I know to check it. And usually it’s golden brown. If you’re baking bread or a cake, be sure to keep a timer. But if you start smelling your banana bread, take a quick peek and check with a toothpick. This technique will help to prevent an overdone, and dry, dessert.
