    Making a recipe that calls for brown sugar but the cupboards are bare? I came across this problem when I made chocolate chip cookiesbut making brown sugar is very easy if you have white sugar and molasses. Light Brown Sugar 1 Cup white sugar 1 Tablespoon molasses Dark Brown Sugar 1 Cup white sugar 2 Tablespoon molasses In a mixer, beat sugar and molasses on medium. Keep the mixer going until the sugar becomes light, fluffy and the molasses has evenly distributed. Now you’re ready to bake!
