    As I promised yesterday in my Green With Envy post, I’m going to share my favorite Green Slip Pea soup recipe. Green Split Pea Soup Ingredients: 1 Medium onion, chopped 2 Cloves garlic, minced 2 Stalks celery, sliced 3 Carrots, sliced 3 Potatoes, scrubbed and chopped 1 Bag or 2 cups green split peas, picked through and rinsed 6 Cups vegetable broth 1 Teaspoon marjoram 1 Teaspoon basil 1/2 Teaspoon parsley 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Combine Ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low 6-8 hours or high 4-5 hours.     This recipe is so easy to assemble but takes a while to bake. Make it on a lazy weekend day or a snow day. This lentil casserole is full of protein and iron and is a hearty dish. It pairs well with a side salad and a chunk of crusty whole wheat bread.     Sunday Football Chili

    We’ve past labor day and its unofficially fall – the start of school, the end of white pants, and the start of football! I can’t think of anything that tops off a day full of football better than a bowl of chili. It’s a hearty fall (and winter) meal and this is my favorite. My recipe is based on Rachael Ray’s Veg-Head Three-Bean Chili. This girl loves her crock pot, and I like to use it as much as I can.
