Presentation is half of the fun of baking and eating! It’s very easy to create a pretty lattice top pie crust for your next pie.
Roll out your top dough and use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 3/4 inch slices.
For demonstration purposes, I used red and blue construction paper. Follow the photo tutorial below.
Start with the largest pieces in the middle of the plate.
And cross one on top of another.
Continue by overlapping on each side.
Keep going…
I liked to do a red on the right and left side followed by a blue on the top and bottom. Gently pull up each piece of dough to weave the pieces together.
Ta-Dah! Tell me that wasn’t easy.
When you are satisfied with the pattern, pinch the dough into the lower crust. Go around the circle with a fork and create a pattern in the crust.
Spritz with EVOO and sprinkle with sugar and a bit of cinnamon and bake.
