Cinnamon Raisin Bread

This recipe is delish and it’s easy to make using your bread machine. It’s best when toasted and topped with a buttery spread or if it’s a few days old works well as french toast! That is, if it lasts that long.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread

  • 1 1/4 Cups plus 2 Tablespoons hot water
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered milk
  • 2 Teaspoons salt
  • 4 Cups bread flour
  • 2 1/2 Teaspoons yeast

Add ingredients in order given.  Choose fruit and nut setting on bread maker.  Add 2 generous handfuls of each raisins and craisins when bread maker signals to add fruit.  (If using a bread maker with a reservoir for fruit, use about 2/3 cup)

If wanting to bake bread in the oven, follow recipe but put the bread maker on the dough setting.  Take dough out and roll it into a rectangle.  Spread a small amount (1-2 Tablespoons) melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.  Roll like a jelly roll and put it in a greased loaf pan.  Cover and let rise approx. 40 minutes.  Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
